General Updates
The Canberra climbing community has a new playground to explore, with the Outer Rim bouldering area on Corin Road now officially live on The Crag. This exciting new sector is already generating plenty of buzz, offering a diverse range of problems that cater to climbers of all styles and abilities. From powerful, steep lines to more technical and delicate climbing, the bouldering here looks genuinely awesome and well worth a visit. At our most recent CCA meeting, we were lucky to hear from Duncan Brown, who gave an excellent and insightful overview of the area. His enthusiasm was infectious, and it’s clear that Outer Rim has a lot to offer both new and experienced climbers alike.A huge thank you goes out to the developers who put in the hard yards to uncover and establish these boulders: Duncan Brown, Craig Schmeiden, Jess Maciejowska, and Amy McNeilage. Their work has opened up an incredible new area for the community. In addition, a couple of sport routes have already been established by Nick Churchill and Joe Horan, hinting at the broader potential of the area. With further opportunities for both trad and sport development, Outer Rim is shaping up to become a true mixed-discipline venue and a standout destination in the ACT climbing scene.
